LIFE AND TIMES OF MALAYSIA'S YOUNGEST PHILANTHROPIST DATO SRI LIOW SOON HEE. SINCE DATO SRI LIOW SOON HEE IS ONLY 32, THERE IS A TIME LIMIT TO WHAT HE CAN ACHIEVE WITHIN A DECADE! TO PUT IT CLEARY AND SENSIBLY, LET US ASSUME DATO SRI LIOW SOON HEE STARTED MAKING MONEY IN EARNEST AGED 22, THEN HE HAD ONLY 10 YEARS TO COUNT HIS ACHIEVEMENTS. IF HE STARTED WORK AT 17 AFTER DROPPING OUT OF FORM 5, THEN HE HAD ONLY 15 YEARS TO TABULATE HIS LIST OF ACHIEVEMENTS. INCREDIBLY, DATO SRI LIOW SOON HEE MANAGES TO SQUEEZE INTO SUCH A SHORT SPAN OF TIME SUCH A LONG LIST OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS! TRULY HE IS A MIRACLE KID OR LIKE MANY DESCRIBE HIM---A 'TIKONG KIA' OR 'SON OF HEAVEN'!

MOST MARVEL AT DATO SRI LIOW SOON HEE'S LONG LIST OF ACHIEVEMENTS AND CHARITY WORK.

BUT ONE MUST BE AWARE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR---YOU MUST BE RICH TO BE A PHILANTHROPIST!

It is impossible to be a charity donor if you are poor or struggling to pay your bills! How can you donate RM 100 to charity when your fridge is nearly empty and your wife and 3 kids are always hungry while your landlord is chasing you for last month's rent?

So Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee must be wealthy to be able to donate millions of ringgit in cash and kind over the past 10 years. The road tax for one Rolls-Royce is RM 17,000 per year and he has two! That's RM 34,000, a year's salary for a laborer!

Yet Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee hails from a poor family in Ampang and whatever he has now is due to his own hard work, foresight and talent. Many have joked he was born with a wooden spoon in his mouth but can now dine with solid gold cutlery.

Born on 24 April 1988, he studied at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Ampang and his early business endeavours including selling handphones, cameras and mass fashions online and in stalls at Plaza Lowyat where he continues to own several shoplots now rented to other would-be millionaires.

So far he has donated around RM 4?? million in kind, cash and services which is a lot for a 32 year old who made his first million aged 23. Of course there are other Malaysians who have donated hundreds of million of ringgit to charity and foundations but they are old enough to be his father or grandfather! The richest philanthropist is possibly Tan Sri Robert Kuok who can well be his great grandfather or more!

Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee established Winner Dynasty Group on 7 July 2015 of which he remains Founder, Chairman and Managing Director. Interestingly, he founded Winner Dynasty Group in London and not Kuala Lumpur as expected.

It is said he met an elderly established businessman in Business Lounge who commented "You are so young and already a winner". Later on board the plane he chatted casually with another another passenger who asked if he was married as he should have children to continue his dynasty. The name of his new company 'Winner Dynasty' came to mind!

After years of struggle as a nondescript, normal trader, his fortune took a leap when he registered 'Winner Dynasty Group' in London!

In Chinese culture, the name is all important as once you use the name 'fated' for you or most suitable, then fame and glory are yours for the taking! For example, there was an unknown gawky, uncool model named Lee Peng who couldn't speak English (which ended her dream of modelling in Paris or New York) and her career was going nowhere. After a KL show, she asked the designer what was the big stone she was wearing and was told it was "amber". She liked the name and decided to call herself Amber Chia and the rest is history.

Most know Alexander the Great who conquered most of the known civilized world by the time he died in 323 BC but few realise the incredible feat when Mehmet the Conqueror conquered Constantinople in 1453 as it ended the Holy Roman Empire in eastern Europe and stopped the spread of Christianity into the Middle East.

Mehmet was nick named called 'Fatih' which means 'Conqueror' as indeed he was. Alexander was 20 when he became King of Macedonia and Mehmet was 21 when he became Sultan of Constantinople which he changed to Istanbul and ruled the Ottoman empire! When Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee became Dato Sri aged  27 he would be considered 'old' by ancient standards!

Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee was popularly known as Dato Sri Nicky Liow but he prefers to be known by his actual full  Chinese name 'Liow Soon Hee' which has brought him fame and fortune. However he maintains the 'Nicky Liow' name in two of his charity foundations.

Yet by all international standards of 21st century, Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee has attained amazing success as he made his first million at 22. He says "I am happy to share the fruits of my labour with the less fortunate simply because I came from a poor family so I know how it is like to suffer. My family had no luxuries when I was growing up. I walked to school and was bullied for being poor and unable to buy things as if being poor was a sin!

"Now I am in a position to help so I am happy to help others. I help whenever I can as it does not matter who or what is needed. The less fortunate can be anyone from any religion or race or age. My assistance is not limited to a particular disease, age group or focus.

"I believe every person should have his or her personal 'zakat' which is one of the pillars of Islam whereby you donate a percentage of your income to the poor and needy. Based on what you can afford, it can be any amount, from a few hundred ringgit to a few hundred million ringgit! It is what you can afford without depriving your own needs or your family's requirements."

Normally zakat is 2.5% of a Muslim's wealth and savings above a minimum amount required for survival and is deemed so important zakat ranks after prayer. 'Zakat' in Arabic means 'that which purifies'! This alms giving is on an annual basis and is generally up to the giver.

Liow Soon Hee was awarded his honorific title of 'Dato Sri' by the late Sultan of Pahang in 2015,

To this worthy end, Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee has used his charity vehicles to disburse his largesse---Yayasan Winner Emperor SeDunia, Pertubuhan Integriti Nicky Liow Malaysia and Nicky Liow Global Love Foundation.

WINNING VIA CRYPTO-TECHNOLOGY

Many ask how Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee made so much in such a short time.

His answer is simple.

Exploit the technology and trend of the moment! In this case, crypto-currency trading that did not involve an initial set-up capital of millions!

But Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee acknowledges timing is everything. When he first started to invest in Bitcoin, it was US$200 each which rose to US$ 20,000 each before collapsing and is now trading at around US$12,000. So if he had sold his vast holdings at US$20,000 and bought back at US$ 5,000, you can start calculating the profits!

Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee also admires the tenacity of Jack Ma who lived a mundane life as English language school teacher earning US$ 12 an hour. Now he makes that amount in a split nano-second! Today Jack Ma is worth RM 222  billion or so!

Malaysia's Youngest Philanthropist notes, "Jack Ma is my idol as he was among the first to recognise the power of the Internet back in the days when handphones and laptops were quite alien to most Chinese in China. Jack Ma said the day he got connected to the Web, he invited friends to his house. They waited 3.5 hours to get half a page and drank, ate, played cards and watched TV while waiting! But he proved the Internet existed!"

Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee also observes, "Jack Ma took 3 years to pass Chinese entrance exams. He applied to Harvard Business School 10 times and was rejected 10 times. When KFC came to Hangzhou his home city, he applied for a job--24 people applied and 23 got the job except him. He applied for 30 different jobs altogether and was rejected by all. I wonder how the job interviewers must be feeling today who rejected Jack Ma!

"While I walked to school, Jack Ma rode 27 km daily on his bicycle for 9 years to work as tour guide."

One of Jack Ma's penpals (there was no such thing as Facebook, Instagram or emails then!) called him 'Jack' as he complained his Chinese name was difficult to pronounce or remember which was strange as 'Ma Yun' is a very simple name!

Today, Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee avers it is not too late to invest in crypto-currency and he will trade on  your behalf though you will have to purchase your own Bitcoins or other variants.

By harnessing the newfound power of the Internet, this young entrepreneur quickly rode the virtual path to  success as opposed to 'old school' technology or venturing into traditional businesses like plantations, mining, manufacturing or retail. This type of New Wave Thinking allowed Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee to leapfrog over his peers still trying to find their own feet.

By riding on the  power of internet technology he succeeded in affirming his leadership and prowess by establishing a powerful position in encrypted digital asset management and services. Rather akin to wealth management offered by traditional, brick and mortal banks except now all is online and available at the touch of a button.

Today Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee's core businesses are crypto currency management under Winner Dynasty Group, bird's nest production under MyNestGlobal Sdn Bhd (reg 1266493-A) and direct selling under Firaxis (reg 1228336-X).

He hopes to list Winner Dynasty Group in the near future.

LIFE IS A JOURNEY OF MENTAL, SPIRITUAL AND CULTURAL CULTIVATION

Malaysia's Youngest Philanthropist adheres to age old beliefs infused with new realities.

"Life can be likened to a journey both spiritual and temporal," he says. "We lead our lives with heart and soul. Charity is a big part that brings happiness to yourself as it does to the recipients.

"I am inspired everyday to succeed and grow my business since the more money I make, the more I can donate. Since the founding of Winner Dynasty Group, it is the focus of the company to champion philanthropy.

"Helping others is a noble act, more so when it transcends race, religion and culture. While different races have different customs and traditions that seem alien to others, there are more values that unite us than divide us! All humans share identical values like love, kindness and hope."

Lauded for his kindness and generosity, Dato Sri Liow Soon Hee focuses his charitable effort in Malaysia and China where he has strong business interests. There he is often called 'China-Malaysia Philanthropist' or 'Influential Young Philanthropist'.
